Our Mission
LexFizz exists to make English language learning accessible, engaging, and completely free. We believe that high-quality educational tools shouldn't be locked behind paywalls or require complex sign-up processes.
Every exercise on this platform was designed to feel like a game — because research consistently shows that game-based learning improves vocabulary retention, boosts motivation, and reduces the anxiety often associated with language study.
What We Offer
LexFizz provides 30 different interactive exercise types, covering vocabulary, grammar, spelling, listening, reading comprehension, and speaking practice. From classic word puzzles like Hangman and Crossword to modern drag-and-drop activities like Match Up and Group Sort — there's something for every learning style.
Who Is It For?
ESL/EFL Students — Whether you're a beginner working through basic vocabulary or an advanced learner preparing for IELTS, TOEFL, or Cambridge exams, our exercises adapt to your level. Practice at your own pace, as many times as you want.
English Teachers — Use LexFizz as a classroom tool. Project any exercise on your smartboard, use Spin the Wheel for random student selection, or assign specific exercises as homework. No accounts or setup needed — just share the link.
Self-Learners — If you prefer learning on your own terms, LexFizz is perfect. Open any exercise on your phone during a commute, on a tablet at home, or on a desktop at work. Every game works offline-ready and on any modern browser.
Built for Speed
LexFizz is a 100% client-side application. Every exercise runs entirely in your browser using vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no server, no database, no backend. This means:
Accessibility
We are committed to making LexFizz usable by everyone. All exercises are designed to be
keyboard navigable, with proper ARIA labels, sufficient colour contrast (WCAG 2.1 AA),
and support for prefers-reduced-motion to disable animations for users who need it.
If you encounter any accessibility issues, please let us know — we take inclusivity seriously and will address reported issues promptly.

Who Is Behind LexFizz
LexFizz is created and maintained by the LexFizz Team — a small, hands-on group of qualified ESL/EFL teachers, curriculum designers, and web developers. Between us we hold recognised teaching qualifications (CELTA, DELTA, and TEFL certificates) and have spent years in real classrooms, online tutoring sessions, and exam-prep courses with learners from absolute beginners to advanced C2 candidates. That classroom experience is what shapes every exercise you play here.
We are practitioners first. Each activity on LexFizz has been used with actual students before it goes live, then refined based on what genuinely helps people learn faster and stay motivated. Because we know who uses the platform, we deliberately keep it free, fast, and free of distractions — no upsells, no gated content, and no data harvesting. You can read more about the individual contributors, their backgrounds, and their teaching specialisms on the LexFizz Team page.
Accuracy matters to us. Every grammar explanation, example sentence, and vocabulary set is checked against trusted references and our published editorial policy, which sets out how we research, write, review, fact-check, and update content. If we make a mistake, we correct it quickly and transparently — you can always reach us through our contact page.
Our Methodology
LexFizz is built on established principles from second-language acquisition research rather than guesswork. Our exercises lean on active recall, spaced repetition, and comprehensible input — the same evidence-based techniques used by effective language teachers — and wrap them in game mechanics that make repetition feel rewarding instead of tedious. You can explore the full framework, including how we sequence skills and measure difficulty, on our dedicated methodology page.
Every exercise is mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), spanning levels A1 to C2. We choose vocabulary frequency bands, sentence complexity, and grammar targets that suit each level, so a beginner is not overwhelmed and an advanced learner is not bored. This CEFR alignment also lets teachers slot LexFizz activities into existing syllabuses and helps self-learners pick content that matches their current ability. Browse our grammar hub or the full exercise library to see how the levels progress in practice.
Our content lifecycle is deliberate: we research a topic, draft the material, test it with real learners, peer-review it within the team, then publish and revisit it on a regular schedule. Supporting guides on the LexFizz blog explain the reasoning behind common sticking points — articles, tenses, prepositions, and more — so learners understand the “why†as well as the “what.†This combination of sound pedagogy, transparent process, and genuine teaching expertise is what we mean when we say LexFizz is built by educators, for learners.
