Why use printable grammar worksheets?
Grammar is the foundation of accurate English communication. Whether you are a student preparing for an exam, an adult learner improving your writing, or a teacher looking for ready-made classroom materials, printable grammar worksheets give you a focused, distraction-free way to practise essential structures.
Unlike digital quizzes, printed worksheets let learners slow down, think carefully, and write answers by hand — a method that research suggests improves retention. Each LexFizz grammar worksheet is designed to progress from controlled exercises (where the answer is guided) to more open tasks where learners apply the rule independently.
All worksheets on this page are formatted for A4 paper and include an answer key. Click any worksheet below to open the full printable version, then use the “Print / Save as PDF” button. No account or payment is needed.

💡 Tips for using grammar worksheets in class and at home
- Warm up first: Before handing out the worksheet, review the grammar rule briefly on the board or in conversation. This activates prior knowledge and makes the exercises easier to approach.
- Time the exercises: Give students a time limit for each section (e.g. 5 minutes for Exercise 1). A gentle time pressure encourages focus and natural recall rather than over-thinking.
- Pair check: After individual work, have students compare answers in pairs before using the answer key. Discussing errors together deepens understanding.
- Use the open task: The third exercise on each worksheet is a free-writing task. Encourage students to write sentences about themselves — personalised examples stick in memory longer.
- For self-study: Complete the worksheet without looking at the answer key first. Then check your answers, note any mistakes, and redo incorrect items a day later using spaced repetition.
- Combine with online practice: After the printed worksheet, use the linked interactive exercise on LexFizz for immediate digital feedback and extra practice.
